Jikang Hansikdang Jamsil is located on the basement floor of Sofitel Ambassador Seoul and is one of the most convenient dakgalbi spots in the area. With continuous operating hours and a spacious dining layout, it’s a solid choice for visitors exploring Jamsil, Seokchon Lake, and Lotte World Tower.
If you’re staying at Sofitel Ambassador Seoul, Jikang Hansikdang Jamsil is one of the closest Korean restaurants for dakgalbi.

Spacious Interior and Self Coffee Service

The dining area at Jikang Hansikdang is spacious and comfortable, making it a suitable spot for groups, families, or hotel guests looking for an easy meal without leaving the building. The tables are set up with built-in grills for dakgalbi, and the seating layout feels more modern and open compared to typical Korean dakgalbi restaurants.

One unique detail here is the self-serve coffee station located near the entrance.
After finishing your meal, you can brew your own Starbucks coffee and even take it to go, which is something I rarely see at Korean dakgalbi places.
It’s a surprisingly convenient touch, especially for hotel guests heading back to their rooms or visitors continuing their evening around Jamsil.

Dakgalbi with Generous Cheese

The signature dakgalbi here is made with fresh Korean chicken thigh and tenderloin marinated in a special house sauce featuring Uiseong garlic.
The sauce has a deep, savory kick with just the right level of sweetness, and once everything starts grilling together, the flavor becomes richer and more concentrated. The cheese is generously added to the center, melting into the spicy dakgalbi and giving each bite a creamy finish.

It was genuinely delicious—surprisingly flavorful without being overly salty—and the balance between chicken, cabbage, rice cakes, and cheese worked really well. If you enjoy cheese dakgalbi, this one definitely hits the spot.

Side Dishes That Pair Well with Dakgalbi

The set menu includes a unique truffle potato fritter that was surprisingly good with the dakgalbi. It’s crispy on the outside with a light truffle aroma and a mild, savory flavor that doesn’t overpower the main dish. It added a nice texture contrast and worked especially well with the melted cheese.

We also ordered the “Binghwa” pan-fried meat dumplings. They look quite distinctive at first glance, with a golden, lacy crust on the bottom, but when flipped over, the dumplings resemble regular Korean mandu. The exterior is extremely crispy while the inside stays juicy, making it a satisfying side dish if you enjoy meat-filled dumplings with a crunchy finish.

If you’re already in the Jamsil area, there’s also a popular instant tteokbokki place called Ip Bunsik Gajeongjip in Songridangil.
It’s about a 10-minute walk from this restaurant, and it’s a great snack stop if you’re exploring the neighborhood.
