Jeju Island: Koreaβs Favorite Vacation Destination
Jeju Black Pork Cutlet is one of the must-try foods when visiting Jeju Island.
Here, the ocean breeze and wide open sky naturally make you slow down, as if the whole island is telling you to relax.
The peaceful coastal roads add an extra layer of calm to the trip, making every short drive feel like a small scenic adventure.
Jeju is one of the most beloved travel destinations in South Korea
β not only for its beautiful beaches, but also for the unique local food you canβt experience anywhere else.
On this trip, I explored the northeastern side of Jeju. I spent time around the quiet area between Sehwa and Hado Beach.
While driving along the coast, I found a small restaurant that instantly caught my eye. It looked like a cozy place specializing in Jeju black pork cutlets.
Jeju is famous for its black pork, so I knew I had to try it. And honestly, this meal turned out to be one of my favorites from the whole trip.
The Exterior of Saljingo Deungeo

As soon as I arrived, the bright yellow building caught my eye.
Located quietly between Sehwa Beach and Hado Beach, this place feels like a hidden gem along the coastal road.
It looked welcoming already β casual and local!
Cute Outdoor Stone Seats

Thereβs a small parking area in front of the restaurant, and I noticed these cute stone tables and chairs made from Jejuβs signature volcanic rock.
It felt very unique, like a small detail that instantly reminds you that youβre truly in Jeju.
If the weather is nice, you could relax here for a moment before heading inside or take a break after finishing your meal.
It gave the place a cozy and friendly atmosphere, and of course, I had to take a picture of it. π

Jeju Black Pork Cutlet β Loin & Tenderloin Set

We ordered the Jeju black pork loin and tenderloin cutlet set.
Jeju black pork is a special local breed raised on the island, known for its chewy texture, rich flavor, and natural savory taste.
Many people say the fat melts more smoothly, which makes the meat taste deeper and more satisfying than regular pork.
Thatβs why it has become one of the must-eat foods when visiting Jeju.
Both cuts were perfectly crispy on the outside and unbelievably juicy on the inside.
The coating felt light and crunchy, so I never got tired of eating it.
The shredded cabbage with a bit of lemon added a refreshing balance, which made each bite even more enjoyable.
I could instantly understand why Jejuβs black pork is so popular among travelers and locals.
Cheese Cutlet Version of Jeju Black Pork Cutlet

We also added two cheese cutlet pieces, and they were such a good idea.
The cheese stretched beautifully with every bite, creamy and slightly salty in the best way.
The texture worked perfectly with the crisp outer coating, making the whole thing feel extra indulgent.
Even though it was just an add-on, it stood out enough to make me think I could easily order a full cheese cutlet on my next visit.
What I liked most was how the flavor stayed balanced.
It wasnβt overly heavy or greasy, and the melted cheese added a comforting, familiar taste that paired well with the black pork.
If youβre someone who loves trying different cutlet styles, this is definitely the one youβll remember after the meal.
How Jeju Black Pork Cutlet Becomes a Full Meal

The set comes with rice, miso-style soup, and three different sauces. It was fun to mix and match β every bite tasted different and so satisfying.
