Jongno Canele Cafe Signature: Emmental Cheese Canelé 🧀💚

When I arrived, there was only one canelé flavor left — the Emmental Cheese — so of course, I had to try it!
The green glaze immediately caught my eye because it’s not a color you usually see on a canelé 🤭
I expected it to taste like vegetables or herbs, but the flavor was surprisingly gentle and well-balanced in the most pleasant way.
The texture was exactly what a canelé should be :
a crispy caramelized crust on the outside with a soft, pudding-like center inside — truly that perfect 겉바속촉 (crispy-outside-soft-inside) we all love ✔️
The Emmental cheese added a subtle, savory richness that paired beautifully with the sweet and slightly tangy tomato jam hidden in the middle.
Every bite had a fun contrast of flavors, making the experience more interesting than your typical dessert.
What I really loved was that it wasn’t overly sweet — just delicious in a more refined way.
I’m honestly not a huge canelé person normally, but this one totally changed my mind.
It made me think, “Okay… I need to come back and try all the other flavors when they’re available!” 🍰💚
A cute and tasty surprise that left me smiling until the last bite.
Vanilla Latte + Canelé = Happy Pairing ☕🤍

We had iced vanilla lattes with it — and they were not too sweet (thankfully!), smooth and refreshing.
The vanilla flavor blended so well with the rich espresso, making each sip creamy and comforting.
It wasn’t heavy at all, just the right balance that keeps you wanting another sip.
Pairing it with the Emmental canelé was honestly such a great choice 💛
The latte mellowed out the savory notes from the cheese and highlighted the sweet-tangy tomato jam inside, creating the perfect dessert moment.
It felt like one of those pairings that just instantly resets your mood after a long, busy day.
Sitting in this airy space, sipping iced coffee, and enjoying a unique canelé
— it was the kind of small treat that makes everyday life feel a little more special ☕✨
