RECTO Signature Round-Neck Knit Review — Cozy Merino Wool Sweater in Size S

Wearing the RECTO Signature Round-Neck Knit in warm ivory

🧵 About RECTO as a Brand

The RECTO Signature Round-Neck Knit is part of RECTO’s core lineup of refined wardrobe pieces. RECTO is a Korean designer brand known for its minimalist silhouettes, structured lines, and subtle but refined details. Over the past few seasons, the brand has built a strong following for pieces that balance masculine tailoring with feminine proportions. Their designs rarely feel trend-chasing; instead, they offer the kind of quiet luxury and durability that stay relevant for years. Personally, I have never been disappointed by their materials or construction — the sweaters especially tend to age well and maintain their structure rather than sagging out over time.

Overview of the RECTO Signature Knit

The RECTO Signature Round-Neck Knit is one of the brand’s most recognizable sweaters.
I picked mine in Size S, and the color is a soft warm ivory tone that feels elevated without trying too hard.
The official retail price is ₩258,000 KRW (about $198 USD), but since the sweater is currently sold out, I bought mine secondhand at a much lower price through a local marketplace app. Considering the quality of the knit and the brand positioning, this felt like a very lucky purchase 🤍

Currently sold out on W CONCEPT, but you can check the original product listing here ↓

Material & Knit Details of the RECTO Signature Round-Neck Knit

Here are two photos I took indoors, showing the knit texture from both the front and the back.
The color appears slightly warmer and more yellow than in real life due to natural sunlight, but the actual tone leans more toward a soft ivory butter cream rather than a full yellow beige. The detailing on the RECTO Signature Round-Neck Knit is clean, structured, and elevated, especially along the raglan lines and sleeves, which add subtle character without looking busy. The ribbed hem feels firm enough to help the sweater maintain its silhouette, which is one of the reasons RECTO knits tend to age well.

Fit & Wearing Experience

On body, the knit reads as a clean and simple sweater at first glance — nothing flashy or trend-driven — but the material quality becomes obvious once you actually wear it. The RECTO Signature Round-Neck Knit feels surprisingly lightweight for a full 100% merino wool piece, and it has that soft and slightly plush hand feel that makes it easy to wear indoors without feeling stuffy or itchy. The fit sits naturally at the waist thanks to the structured rib hem, and the slight volume in the sleeves gives it just enough character without overwhelming the frame.

What I appreciated most was the balance between refinement and comfort: it looks minimal and effortless, but once you move in it, you notice how cozy, warm, and breathable it is. It’s the kind of knit that works with virtually anything — jeans, tailoring, or even joggers — because the silhouette is clean and the material doesn’t collapse or stretch out easily.

Sleeve & Shoulder Details

One of the most impressive parts of the RECTO Signature Round-Neck Knit is the detailing along the sleeves and shoulders.
From afar, it presents as a simple round-neck knit — clean, minimal, and understated — but up close you notice the stitching lines that travel down the arm and raglan seams. These lines add structure and subtle elevation, making the sweater feel more designed and intentional rather than basic.

This is something RECTO does exceptionally well: the brand keeps the silhouette quiet while investing heavily in the texture, knit direction, and finishing.
It’s the kind of detail that doesn’t shout but definitely reads as luxurious when you’re wearing it or when others see it up close.

Versatility & Styling

Another reason I love the RECTO Signature Round-Neck Knit is its versatility.
The silhouette is clean and slightly cropped with a structured hem, which makes it incredibly easy to pair with different bottoms.
It works just as well with jeans for a casual everyday look as it does with sweatpants or joggers for a softer, athleisure vibe.
Because the knit doesn’t collapse or become shapeless, the outfit still looks intentional even when styled with more relaxed pieces.

It’s one of those sweaters that can move between “put-together” and “comfortable” without changing anything — which is harder to find than it sounds.
