A Local Euljiro Restaurant Made Famous by Sung Si-kyung

Incheon Jip interior in Euljiro, second floor Korean oyster bossam and kalguksu restaurant

Euljiro oyster bossam and kalguksu is served at Incheon Jip, a long-running local restaurant located on the second floor of a small building in Euljiro.
I visited this place years ago, but after it was featured on Sung Si-kyung’s YouTube channel, it became even more famous among locals and food lovers.

The interior feels old-school and authentic, with handwritten autographs covering the walls. One thing to note: the stairs are quite steep, so be careful when going up. Once you’re inside, the atmosphere already tells you this is a place loved for decades.

Oyster Bossam with Kimchi, Radish, and Garlic – Perfect Balance

This Euljiro oyster bossam and kalguksu set comes with a generous portion of sliced pork and fresh oysters served on top of well-fermented kimchi.
The pork is clean and tender, without any strong smell, making it easy to enjoy even for first-time bossam eaters.

What really stood out was the combination. The oysters were aromatic and incredibly fresh, with zero fishy taste. The kimchi had a deep, savory flavor, and hidden inside was slightly sweet seasoned dried radish, adding a nice umami kick. Even though I usually avoid raw garlic, pairing the bossam with fresh garlic surprisingly worked perfectly and enhanced the overall flavor.

For those who don’t eat oysters, you can also order bossam without oysters, which makes this place friendly for different preferences.

Bossam with Raw Garlic – A True Korean Food Experience

Bossam pork with kimchi and raw garlic at Euljiro oyster bossam restaurant

Eating Euljiro oyster bossam and kalguksu with raw garlic might sound intimidating to some foreigners, but it’s absolutely worth trying at least once.
The sharpness of the garlic cuts through the richness of the pork and kimchi, creating a bold and addictive flavor.

Surprisingly, the pork here is so clean and mild that even with raw garlic, the bite feels well-balanced rather than overwhelming. If you’re looking for a true Korean food experience, this combination is something I’d strongly recommend—especially for adventurous eaters who want to taste Korean cuisine beyond the basics.

Huge Portion Clam Kalguksu – Light Broth but Very Filling

Large bowl of clam kalguksu with fresh clams and handmade noodles in Euljiro

The clam kalguksu at this Euljiro oyster bossam and kalguksu spot comes in an unexpectedly huge portion. The bowl is packed with fresh clams, thick handmade noodles, and green onions, making it more than enough to share. Despite the generous amount, the broth stays clear, light, and comforting, which pairs perfectly with the rich bossam. We ordered two bowls for four people, and still couldn’t finish everything.
If you’re planning to eat bossam first, keep the portion size in mind—it’s seriously filling.
Another nice touch is that when you order kalguksu, they serve a different style of kimchi, slightly more fermented and ideal for noodle dishes.

If the waiting time here is too long, I recommend Sonjeong Bossam, another well-known bossam restaurant located about a 10-minute walk away.
It’s a great alternative in the Jongno–Euljiro area and popular for its classic bossam style.
